At Forge Homes, mental health is something we take seriously and as a company in the construction sector we recognise the importance of creating a environment where our employees feel comfortable, valued and heard.

The Construction industry is widely recognised as one of the sectors most affected by mental health challenges and suicide.

Which is why it’s so important to check in on each other and encourage open conversations.

In light of Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to highlight a few ways we are continuing to support our employees both on site and in office:

  • Introduced a 30 minute group lunch walk, a chance to step away from the desk, take a break and get some air together.
  • Posters provided by The Lighthouse Charity and Mates in Mind displayed across our sites, providing useful information, support and helpline contacts.
  • A new break room was created in the office, providing a separate space to recharge and take a proper break during the day

If you need someone to talk, remember you are not alone, and support is available through charities such as @lighthouse who provide a free 24/7 confidential helpline – 0345 605 1956
